• NULLSPACE – INTO THE NIGHT EP – OUT NOW!

I am very proud to announce to you the next release from Monism Music for personal reasons. As a very close friend and fellow production geek I have always felt that Nullspace has been destined for great things with his production work. After introducing him to the Monism Music team, it was a must to sign his material. After listening to the “Into The Night EP” for the first time, I knew it was necessary to get a proper remix from another one of our favorites. OUTSIDER! WE PRESENT TO YOU, MONISM 008! Congratulations Mike, I am proud to have part in your first of many releases. [MELEE]

Nullspace “Into the Night EP” MONISM008 by monismmusic

From the cavernous depths of a long hiatus from action comes Monism 8, celebrating the first release of Boston native Michael Andrews (aka Null Space).

The Space Music (www.di.fm) curator and technological guru has long been fascinated with the sounds of Minimal Techno mixed with his deep appreciation for quality Ambient and atmospherics. His first outing is nothing short of a nod to his mentors, whilst pushing the gambit for North American Minimal and Tech House.

Zusa is the main cut with a killer groove, trippy vocal snippets and sounds, and a rolling bassline sure to put you in shift mode; by far the most maximal of all the cuts. Second comes Shimmer, down a more minimal vein with plush pads and a nice round bassline. It could easily be seen in crates from Minimal mad men to those big Prog jocks all in one evening.

Reale goes into underwater techno land, familiar to those that follow Joel Mull’s Inside Recordings. Pumping filler with big sounds make this great genre segue material.

To close up the In To The Night EP, two remixes of Zusa from old school master of tech, Outsider. From the days of Junior Boys own, comes one half of the former Peace Division, from Kingsize to Blue Black to Lot 49, the list goes on, as does the outfit known to us as Outsider. Swinging beats and percolating keys rock the first mix into a dancefloor frenzy, whilst MKII focuses on the original bass line groove. Both mixes are incredible for peak hour floors.

    Feedback and Support!

  • Monism Pod 013 – Drumcell – Live @ Reinvent

Techno in America remains to have little faces beyond the repositories of the Detroit contingent.  Years of complacency and growing popularity has saturated a vibe that once perceived to be completely unique and underground.  Recent trends have had many heads wondering where does american techno move forward. Many crews ride the threshold of what’s hot, but few remain committed to the vision set forth from our forefathers.  Every city has their crew, and for the last decade, The City Of Angels has had something to be extremely proud of, Droid Behavior.  A crew and label constantly providing stellar events and extraordinary releases, respected the world over.  From the crates of Adam Beyer to Brian Zentz, Droid has been gaining momentum since their inception.

And at the helm of this week’s mix. Co-Creator and Label Guru, Drumcell. His arms reaching far thru-out the techno industry spanning software to music.  Drumcell’s DJ sets captivate minds with his forward thinking approach to the art, never settling for your average mix, recently recorded at Reinvent in November 08, This mix set will bring you right into the night of the performance, with an unedited mix of all things tech.
